Los Angeles Economic Development Institute Opens Doors 06/1/09
Los Angeles, CA – The Los Angeles Economic Development Institute (LAEDI) is officially open for business in its new offices in downtown Los Angeles, CA. In conjunction with the Los Angeles Community College District, LAEDI offers hands-on, skill-based training to businesses in Los Angeles and surrounding communities.
LAEDI, an umbrella organization with 3 distinct divisions, is initially being funded by grants, but will eventually be self-sufficient. LAEDI’s Employee Training division will fill the need of employee training that has been previously unmet by community colleges and corporate training, due to lack of funding and insufficient staff. LAEDI will provide on-site training to local businesses, as well as in the state-of-the-art training center in Los Angeles, CA.
Training programs have been designed to meet the needs of the largely service-based industries most important to the local economy, and include Customer Service, Health Care, Culinary, Office and Business & Marketing Management, Sexual Harassment, Diversity Training, International Business Communication and custom-designed programs specific to individual businesses and industries.
The LAEDI projects meet workforce demands in the business economy by providing hands-on skills based training to businesses in the Los Angeles community.
