| Why Training? |
Why Training?
So, when you want to do something in your business you have not done before, or if this is a new business for you, or if you have specific problems you are trying to solve, you have basically three types of help available to you.
OPTION 1:
you can hire someone else to do it for you: this is likely the most effective but also the most expensive.
OPTION 2:
you can hire someone to help you, where you do most of the work but you have guidance from an expert
OPTION 3:
you do it yourself. This is the cheapest but likely the least effective. You’re chances of making the right decisions is a lot less without any help from experts.
Let’s look at OPTION 2 ….
Why is hiring someone to guide you the best strategy?
Lower risk over all:
Less cash outlay.
Less risk since you not only have access to a specialist you also have access through that person to their entire network of consultants.
Within OPTION 2, you still have 2 options:
OPTION 2a: Business Coaching Sessions:
If you hire a business coach for one-on-one sessions, you’re likely to spend from of $300 to $2,500 per hour. If you need this type of one-on-one time, this can be valuable, so long as your return on your investment with them is much greater.
For the vast majority of business owners, however, the next option is best:
OPTION 2b: Business Training Classes:
You obtain similar levels of information in the right order, with sufficient time to ask questions of the trainer. You also gain insight from other class members taking the training along with you. You gain a sense of solidarity, of mutual assistance, and you expand your network of potential partners, investors, clients, and vendors. You’ll spend much less, averaging between $20 to $75 per hour, and yet you’ll gain the most.
Hmmmm… less money and more benefits. It’s not hard to see why attending business training events is so popular!
So, to summarize, OPTION 2b that we described above, that of
Attending Training events, has the following benefits:
Much less cost with similar information provided. Curriculums are written by the most respected experts in each field.
Dynamic experience keeps you focused and moving forward. Easier and faster way to learn new information that reading by yourself.
Usually have enough one-on-one attention, as trainers are always open to questions during class.
Can ask questions and obtain answers from experts and guest speakers to which you wouldn’t otherwise have access.
Can learn from the successes and failures of other people taking the class.
There is time before and after training events to get to know other business people in an informal and friendly setting. You can ask questions about the previous training event’s topics and exercises and learn from their experiences.
After your classmates get to know you, like you, and trust you, they can easily become partners, investors, clients, or vendors.
When you need additional one-on-one business coaching, your trainer or a recommended expert can assist you outside of class.
Many training classes have study groups of “Master Minds” that meet other evenings or weekends to further answer your questions and collaborate on helping each other reach individual business goals.
Trainers are not just …
